932.0. "A middle name for baby Yates!" by MAGEE::YATES () Tue Feb 08 1994 17:22

    Hi,

I am due on July 12th. My husband and I are in need of a middle name
to go with the first name George. We already have a girls name picked
out......Robin Marie (after both grandmothers). My husbands name is
George Henry, but we want a different middle name if it is a boy. We
are sort of leaning towards Charles. Any ideas would be great.

    Thanks,
    Nancy

For a traditional sounding name like George, I would probably pick
a traditional sounding, multisyllable middle name.

    George Everett Yates
    George Arnold Yates
    George Thomas Yates
    George Harold Yates
    George Joseph Yates
    George Christopher Yates

Nancy,

If you have a boy and his name is the same as your husband's (George), what
are you planning to call him (Georgie, George Jr., Little George, G2,
middle name, etc.)? It would make a difference to me in what middle names
to recommend...

But, working on the premise you might go with the middle-name or initials,
I like these with Yates (by the way, I like the name Charles, but don't
really like the 3 1-syllable names altogether JMHO):

	George Timothy Yates
	George Richard Yates
	George Quentin Yates
	George Kevin Yates
	George David Yates
	George Bradley Yates
	George Matthew Yates
	George Patrick Yates
	George Philip Yates
	George Nolan Yates

You probably want to stay away from middle names beginning with "A", but
I do like some A first names if you would consider switching George into
the middle name spot:

	Adam George Yates
	Alexander George Yates
	Austin George Yates

Good luck finding the "right" combo.,
-Cori

    Hi,

We are planning to go by the middle name. My husband come from a long
line of George's. His father is George Kenneth, and his father before
him was a George also. I don't like the name Kenneth at all, even though
I like my father-in-law a lot. I thought about middle names begining with
A also, but that would be to cruel to do!

    Thanks for your input,
    Nancy
