923.0. "Names to go with "Jennison"" by CNTROL::JENNISON (Unto us, a Child is given) Wed Dec 29 1993 12:52

I'm expecting my second child March 1st. We've got
a few boy's names selected, butare having a bit more
trouble narrowing down the girl's list.

    	So far we've got

    	James Patrick Jennison
    	Andrew Mark
    	Joseph Michael
    	Jesse David

and for girls, we've really only got a few first names selected

    	Teresa
    	Rachel
    	Angela (mom's favorite, dad's unsure)

We need some more ideas for a girl, and some good middle names
to go with the above suggestions. I prefer one syllable middle
names if the first name has three syllables - it seems to balance
    	better with Jennison.

Our daughter's name is Emily Rose...

    Hi Karen!
As I just mentioned to Christina, we haven't really got a girl's
name either. When we got married and knew we'd have children we
had a girl's and a boy's name picked out right away. When we lost
our first we decided not to use the boy's name but chose another for
    him.
When I was pregnant with Charlotte we still had those two names.
Now, since "Charlotte" has been used, we have to think of a new
    girl's name!
Actually, I am seriously considering Eleanor Rose (sound vaguely
familiar?) since I think it will go well with Charlotte Iris. But
Alan is not convinced, so I haven't pushed the issue. Once in
a while my mom gives me a name out of the blue (she's trying to
be helpful) but I haven't heard anything I really like yet.

For a boy its no problem; we would use Alan's name as a middle name
(tradition in his family) and either go with Nicholas or Hanson.

    Monica

Have you thought about Angela Rachel or Teresa Rachel? I think
    they sound very good together.

For one syllable middle names, I came up with:

    Ann
    Jill
    Jane
    Paige
    May
    June
    Dawn
    Joy

    Do any of these appeal?

    Chris

    More one syllable middle names:

    Joan
    Lynn/Lyn
    Leigh/Lee

Karen,

Of your boys' list, I like James Patrick or Andrew Mark best with Jennison
(Jesse just sounds a bit too much with your last name IMHO). For girls,
here are some combinations for you to consider:

	Angela Raye Jennison
	Theresa Jane Jennison
	Rachel Lynne Jennison

	Erica Lee Jennison
	Christine Anne Jennison
	Katherine Kim Jennison
	Crystal Beth Jennison
	Tamara Sue Jennison
	Sarah Diane Jennison
	Caroline Ann Jennison
	Rebecca Jean Jennison

I think all of these complement Emily Rose nicely. Good luck in the search!

I am also due in March; March 11th actually with my first. We have
picked out Tyler Assad (Assad after my husbands grandfather) for a boy
and Michaela ?? for a girl. We had originally picked out Katlyn for a
girl but we switched to Michaela because it was different and also
because my husbands name is Michael and it sounds better with Conlon.
Now we just need to decide on a middle name to go with Michaela.

I hope these names are helpful. My husband and I have found that it
is very difficult to decide on just the right name for your child.
We still have 7 weeks till my due date.... the names could change
    again.

Thanks for the suggestions so far.

My husband doesn't want me giving away the names, but I'm still
searching for good middle names for the girl's choices I listed.

Anyone wanna take a stab at some good combos ?

	Karen
923.7Some ideasAMCUCS::MEHRINGWed Feb 02 1994 16:4523
Karen,

Okay, I'll bite... Here are some ideas with your 3 girls' choices:

Angela Raye Jennison (still my favorite from .4)
	Angela Rose
	Angela Kate
	Angela Shawn

	Rachel Lindsay Jennison
	Rachel Krista
	Rachel Dana
	Rachel Anna

	Theresa Jean Jennison
	Theresa Michelle
	Theresa Lynne
	Theresa Kim

or...	Samantha Dawn Jennison?
	Melanie Kaye Jennison?

Are there any family names you'd consider using (or variants thereof...)?

I'm convinced that Karen is having a boy - but I'll throw out
some middle name combos for your 3 choices anyways 8-)

I agree with Cori on Angela Rae Jennison.
I also think Angela Anne, Angela Faith, or Angela Ruth would be nice.

For Teresa, I like Teresa Jane, Teresa Beth, Teresa Leigh
    Teresa Joy, or Teresa Lyn.

For Rachel, I think Rachel Marie (after Mom) would be nice.
I also like Rachel Renee, Rachel Christine, Rachel Louise,
    and Rachel Elizabeth.

Oh, and if you're not dead set on a single syllable middle
name for Teresa, I think Teresa Nicole sounds great!

    just me, cj/

	Thanks!

I like Teresa Jane and Teresa Beth.

	I also like Angela Rae.

I like Leigh with both Teresa and Rachel. Is there any other
spelling for that (I like it as spelled here, my husband isn't
	sold on the spelling).

The one syllable isn't a rule, I just liked the balance. I
do have a hard time with 3 syllable middle names with 2 or 3
syllable first names (thus Teresa Elizabeth is out)

	As for family names,

James Patrick is my husband's name, mine is Karen Marie.

	Teresa Ann is my mother-in-law

	Mark is my Father-in-law

	John Joseph is my dad

Loretta is my mother, though she'd probably encourage me *not* to use it
	Apolonia was my grandmother

Pauline and Teresa are our grandmothers, and Rainier and John Joseph
	our grandfathers...
