891.0. "Need help with a boy's name" by VINO::AHALL () Mon Jul 26 1993 16:37

    Six weeks left to go and still haven't been able to agree on a boys
    name yet. We've gone through one book cover to cover several times.
    Looks like we need to purchase a different book but in the meantime,
    I would like to hear your suggestions for a first name that goes with
    Hall. It's not so much matching the names as it is trying to find a
    not so common name that sounds distinquished.

    You know how it is, our first child/son and the first grand child on
    my side. However, we do not want our father's names Milton or Henry
    and we do not want a Jr after my husband Roger.

891.1Cameron Hall?AMCUCS::MEHRINGTue Jul 27 1993 20:4219
Anne,

Here are a few ideas that came to mind:

	Adam Timothy Hall
	Garrett Roger Hall
	Cameron David Hall
	Dylan Henry Hall
	Gregory Scott Hall
	Jason Roger Hall
	Gordon Tyler Hall
	Schyler Jeffrey Hall

I'm sure there are lots more "uncommon" names lurking in the pages of
another babyname book, too... Good luck as the big day approaches!

891.2Cameron, I like it!VINO::AHALLWed Jul 28 1993 14:159
    Hi,

    Thanks, I really like the name Cameron. Hopefully my husband will too.
    We originally chose Tyler Alan then my husband decided he wanted to
    keep looking. I just bought a new book last night and can't seem to
    put it down. I'm hoping to agree on a name soon before I kill
    him...just kiddin!

    HI,

    CONGRATULATIONS AND GOOD LUCK IN FINDING A NAME. I HAVE A THREE WEEK
    OLD GRANDSON AND HIS NAME IS CHANDLER BLAKE, WHICH I THINK IS A VERY
    DISTINGUISHED NAME AND EVERYONE ELSE SEEMS TO THINK SO ALSO. THE
    OTHER BOYS NAME MY DAUGHTER HAD PICKED OUT WAS CAMERON BLAINE OR
    CAMERON BRADLEY.

891.4Congrats to you!VINO::AHALLFri Jul 30 1993 13:5612
    Hi,

    Congratulations to you! Both those names are very nice. However, my
    husband put his nose up once again when I mentioned them. He's being
    really fussy and I'm going to have to get vicious with him...

    I wish he would be more particular when it comes to housework...

    A friend of mine gave me the idea of browzing through the Digital phone
    book or ELF. So here goes...

891.5Jason Robert Hall?CSC32::L_WHITMORESun Aug 01 1993 00:016
    A friend of mine has a son named Jason Robert - I think it sounds
    very nice with the last name of Hall. I know what you mean
    about husbands and trying to agree on names! I'm due September
    1st and we STILL have not come up with a boy's name. Good Luck!

891.6Congrats Lila!VINO::AHALLMon Aug 02 1993 20:179
    Congrats Lila! I like the name Jason. It has come up in conversation
    several times and my husband hasn't actually ruled it out. However, I
    like Jason Alan Hall (Alan being my husbands middle name).

    I am getting a little nervous as the days pass. I hate loose ends.

    Best of luck to you and let me know what name you choose.

    I was in a relationship (long time ago!) with a man named
    Ronald Robert Horatio Hall. (used to use the mailbox name R2H2) 8-)

    He also had a brother named Rodney (which goes will with "Hall")

    Hi Anne,

    Hall was my grandmother's maiden name. Her name was Amanda Hall. My
    sister was named Lauren Hall Belfield - which I think sounds really
    nice together. I have two friends with the last name of Hall -
    Steve Hall and Martha Hall. For a boys name - how about :

    Adrian Hall
    Dana Hall
    Darcy Hall (like the guy from the book Pride and Prejudice)
    Steve Hall
    Christopher Hall
    James Darcy Hall
    Lawerence Hall
    Alexander Hall
    Andrew Hall

    Just to name a few!

891.9Alexander Benjamin HallVINO::AHALLThu Aug 12 1993 17:0012
    Hi,

    Thanks for the listing...It looks like we will be going with Alexander...
    my husband picked this out and is absolutely stuck on it. He does browse
    through the book but suspiciously hasn't come up with anything else.
    It's our first child/son and he has chosen Alexander Benjamin Hall. I'm
    not crazy about it but I don't hate it. How can I say no...he's so proud.

    Three weeks left and counting!

    Hi,

    I forgot to mention that Amanda was the girls name we had chosen.
    Still will be next time around also.

    Hi Anne,

    I think Alexander Hall is a fantastic name! I once worked with a
    Scottish guy names Alexander and he was nick named Sandy and sometimes
    Sanny (Sannie?). He was so nice and so good looking that I have always
    like the full name and the nickname he has!!!

    Cheers,
    Kimberly

    Hi,

    Thanks! The name does grow on you, I'm starting to like it more and
    more. Quite the mouthfull but Alex Hall will be used most often.

    I feel bad in a way because my father doesn't like it and it's his
    first grandson. But, I can't please everyone...I wish I could that
    would be wonderful. I'm sure it will grow on him too.

    My parent weren't keen on my daughters name either. Today whenever
    we're out together and my parents are showing off their granddaughter
    and someone tells them how much they like the name Natasha Alexis
    Bonina........they're the first ones to say "Thanks.......we love it
    too". Today....they totally deny ever not liking the
    name.......PARENTS - got to love 'em. :-)

    Hi,

    Well bye all, tomorrow is my last day and off for maternity leave. I
    will be sure to write when I return in 8 weeks. We are still going
    with the name Alexander Benjamin Hall and just patiently waiting for
    his arrival. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions, and good luck
    to all who need them.
