834.0. "ADDISON & ?" by USHS01::BROOKS () Tue Oct 27 1992 19:34

    Hello Everyone -

I just found this conference and think it is GREAT! My baby is due
in April and we are searching for names.

I think I have decided on a boy's name but have no idea for a girl.
The name I like for a boy is Addison Lee. Do you have any suggestions
for a girl? Our last name is Brooks and I like unusual names.
By the way, what do you think of Addison?

    Thanks

    Cathy

Cathy,

Congratulations...and I think Addison is a nice name with Brooks - and
not very common. Perhaps you would like Madison for a girl?

Other possibilities:

	Bailey
	Angeline
	Lindy
	Mackenzie or Mackenna
	Rochelle
	Sheridan

Boys:
	Wilson
	Harrison
	Gordon
	Duncan
	Keenan
	Griffin
	Wesley
	Mason

Can you give any more clues as to what kinds of names you like for
girls'? What is your ethnic heritage? You're lucky since Brooks is an
easy name to work with! (I also have a nephew Gregory Brooks and niece
Rebecca "Becca" Brooks...)

Good luck,
-Cori

I did consider Madison for a girl - but I find myself looking at
common girl names with unique spelling such as Ashleigh and Alyssa.

My husband and I both have French and English ancestors, but we have
not limited ourselves as far as names. The only tradition is there must
be an "L" middle name - this is tradition on both sides and we are
    running out of good ones.

Any help will be GREATLY appreciated.

834.4Here's an attempt...AMCUCS::MEHRINGWed Oct 28 1992 19:5530
Cathy,

I like Alyssa, but don't ususally go for odd spellings of names like
Ashleigh, so this is a tough one for me, but here are some thoughts
(these are independent lists - not matched up):

Girls	First Middle

	Anjelika	Lynne
	Jenivieve	Lynette
	Viktoria	Lorna
	Zandra Lorrine
	Chelle Lara
	Karley Lise
	Nicolette	Lark
	Marlee Limerick
	Stefanie	Luanne

Boys	First Middle

	Trent Landon
	Nicolas Logan
	Alec Lance
	Nathan Lucas

So, what does your list of contenders look like for girls?

The search continues...

834.5Try a simple meaningful "L"POCUS::PERETZSMon Nov 16 1992 18:487
My son is Adam, and I am hoping his son will be Addison (son of Adam)!
I love the name! As for the "L", have you considered just using the L?
Harry S Truman is an example, the S stands for nothing. Friends of
mine recently had a little girl, they named her Katherine Z Klien. No
period after the Z, and the Z is not short for anything, just a Z.
With your family history the "L" will stand for something, but it is a
tradition not a "word" or "name".
