817.0. "Lyle" by SHALOT::ANDERSON (Dictated, not spell-checked) Wed Aug 19 1992 14:26

	Need some first impressions ... What do you all think of
	Lyle, as in Lyle Anderson. Goofy? Cool (as in Lyle Lovett)?
	Different? Too different? Acceptable? Hopeless? Thanks,

817.1I wouldn't use itWILBRY::WASSERMANDeb Wasserman, DTN 264-1863Wed Aug 19 1992 18:051
    Uhhhh, my first thought was the old children's book Lyle the Crocodile.
817.2One syllable fits well with Anderson...AMCUCS::MEHRINGWed Aug 19 1992 18:235
My first thought was that it's similar to "Kyle" but a bit less common. I
think it sounds fine with Anderson. Still carries a bit of a country or
Southern connotation for me, but that's not "bad".

Any other contenders? Do you know it's a boy??
817.3Lyle is uniqueKYOA::CHANGFri Aug 21 1992 13:066
    Hi,
    Lyle Anderson sounds good to me. I haven't heard that name except
    for country singers. It also reminds me of Kyle which is more common
    but still not used often (at least where I live).

817.4Lyle/Lonnie Anderson RTOEU::KRICKSThere is no place like home....Mon Aug 24 1992 08:526
    Hi,

    The name Lyle Anderson reminds me think of Lonnie Anderson - they kind
    of sound the same!! I think I might like Lyle used as a middle name best.
