My name is the feminine version of Shiloh from the Hebrew
Scriptures...it is Shilah...and the meaning is "To Who it Belongs" or
"Tho Who the Right Belongs". Referring to the Messianic rule in the
scriptures, but I love the name because you don't hear it very often.

    Shilah (pronounced Shy-la)

Well, my name is a spanish version of the biblical name Rachel. She
was the wife of Joseph and it means "ewe" (female sheep). My name also
isn't very popular, but it is rather famous.

    Just my two cents.

My mother's name was Miriam, and we always got a kick out of it when in
the movie "The Ten Commandments" they got to the line "Miriam's always
right". Miriam was (at least in the movie) the village woman who warns
everyone to save as much water as they can because the well, etc. will
    be turning to blood soon.

740.10Are these really biblical? More lists.WOOK::LEEWook... Like 'Book' with a 'W'Sat Jan 11 1992 16:5249
Is Leif found in the Bible? Which language?

I also don't remember seeing Gerard and Francis in any English translations.

Rachel and Leah were sisters and both were married to Jacob. Rachel was Joseph's
mother.

Some more that aren't in any of the replies so far:

Useable girls names are much harder to come by. Most are mouthfuls like
Jochabed and Hepzibah or unfeminine by today's standards like Gomer.

Wook (definitely non-biblical)
