709.0. "Name for baby Palm" by HYEND::PALM () Tue Jul 16 1991 18:30

My daughter-in-law is expecting around Thanksgiving. I printed all
the lists off for her and suggested inserting a note for further suggestions
so here goes.

Mom to be: Victoria Alen Papin (Pap pan French origin) Palm
Dad to be: William Robert Palm

Torie likes very unusal names...she has a sister named Kellog (Kelly)
and one named Meghan. She's thinking of "Tyler" for a girl. I promise
to stay out of it....but it would be interesting to see what suggestions
	abound out there.

	My family ancestry is Irish...my husband's German/Irish.

	Thanks,

	Grammy Palm

709.1here's a few ideasTIPTOE::STOLICNYTue Jul 16 1991 19:3132

Hmmm.. I've heard of people using Kyle (or Kylie) and Taylor for
girls, but Tyler is a new one for me. Here's some "unusual"
    girl names for you:

    Piper
    Sabrina
    Zoe
    Deirdre
    Chloe
    Kira
    Kendra
    Janelle
    Regan
    Taryn

I think they'll need 2 or 3 syllables to go with Palm. For different
    boys names, there's:

    Tanner
    Cody
    Connor
    Damien
    Kendall
    Keenan
    Grayson
    Maxwell
    Quentin

I know, some of them are a bit much, but you did say unusual....

Congratulations. I can imagine how exciting it must be to be an
    expectant grandmother!

For unusual names, someone recently named their daughter Avery.
It is similar to Tyler. In fact Avery Tyler or Tyler Avery seem
to go equally well together. But, to me, they are masculine
sounding and would be better for a grandson than granddaughter.

I prefer more feminine names for girls, and there are unique ones,
    too.

    Olivia
    Collette
    Ellisse
    Miriam
    Leah
    Tatiana
    Jillian
    Paige

Of course, combinations can be made with 2 or more of the above as
    first and second names:

    Tatiana Collette
    Miriam Leah
    Olivia Paige
    Jillian Collette
    Ellisse Paige

    Good luck to all,

    Chris

I agree with .2 on Tyler. I think it is more of a boys name than a
    girls. I like:

    .1's choices .2's choices
    Zoe Tatiana
    Chloe Olivia
    Kira Miriam

    my own choices:

    Zometa
    Wilene
    Tempi
    Anastasia

Congratulations on becoming a grandmother. And I think you are very
wise to stay out of the name picking other than offering suggestions.

    God's blessings on all!

709.4is it definitely a girl?TIPTOE::STOLICNYMon Jul 22 1991 12:0316

I thought that I'd add some names that I think sound great with Palm
but are not terribly unusual, just unique. I tried to pick up on
the French bit in a few of the names. How about?:

    Natalie Palm
    Alicia Palm
    Tanya Palm
    Amber Palm
    Renee Palm
    Gabriella Palm

Zometa, Tempi, and Wilene in -.1 are certainly "interesting".

They are not sure of the sex of the baby...she did not opt for
the test altho an ultra sounds was done very early on.

The names I personally like so far from the suggestions are:

Amber (This is under consideration already)
	Kira
	Taryn
	Ariane
	Caileigh (KAYLEE)
Brianna (apparently very Irish from what I have read in the Notes)

We had three sons so it's truly fun to imagine what it would be
like to have a granddaughter.....but a fine healthy grandson would
be wonderful too. We have one grandson already....Gregory Lyon
(maternal great-grandmother's maiden name)Palm and he is alot of fun.
LYON would go well with most of the above name.

Thanks for all your suggestions....whatever they name him/her, the
baby will be well loved and welcome.

The boys gave me a rocking chair for my birthday, July 16....hint
	hint....I will just love it.

	Regards,
