678.0. "first/middle names for Bowers" by SKIVT::BOWERS (Gary A. Bowers - BTO Process ME) Mon May 06 1991 19:12

We're expecting on August the 5th and have these names to choose from:

	Boy Girl
	--- ----

	Evan Chelsea*
	Austin
	Leigh
	Taylor
	Fletcher
	Benjamin

Evan and Chelsea are our favorites, so that's not the biggest problem. It
hasn't been that easy to put a middle name with our last name. (It's tough
enough finding a first name to go with Bowers as it is)!

Any suggestions would be appreciated. (Even other first names for that
matter; but add a middle name if you have another choice for a first name).

thanks,
-Gary (& Debra)

*We've had Chelsea as a first choice for a girl's name from the start, so
I can't even remember what our other choices might have been.

    Just a note...

I noticed that you have "Leigh" for a boy's name. That is my husband's
name, and has been a bit of a problem. (He has had more mail sent to
Ms. Leigh Fahel than I care to mention!) He also isn't overly fond of
it, but it is a pain to change it. We had also met a teenager with the
same name, and he was overjoyed to have met someone with the same
spelling... he always felt wierd about his name.

I like your choice of Evan, so how about Evan Lee, or Evan Leigh? I
    also like Chelsea...Chelsea Anne?

From your list of boys names how about:

    Evan Taylor
    or
    Evan Fletcher

I like Chelsea, too. How about:

    Chelsea Elizabeth
    or
    Chelsea Paige

    Best of luck,

    Chris

Bowers doesn't seem too hard to work with, really.
    How about:

    Evan Michael Bowers
    Evan Garrett Bowers
    Evan Lee Bowers
    Evan Thomas Bowers
    Evan Christopher Bowers

    Chelsea Renee Bowers
    Chelsea Jane Bowers
    Chelsea Leigh Bowers
    Chelsea Michelle Bowers

    Lots and lots of possibilities!!

    How about Chelsea Leigh Bowers?

I like both Evan and Austin. My last name also begins with "B" and we
selected names ending in "n" for our baby. For some reason they just
sounded better to us. You could use:

    Evan Austin Bowers

       or

    Chelsea Anne Bowers
            Lynn

Many of the other names given sound good also. With Chelsea I like the
sound of a single syllable middle name.
678.6So far so good...SKIVT::BOWERSGary A. Bowers - BTO Process METhu May 16 1991 15:2416
Thanks for the ideas.

So far it looks like Lee/Leigh as a middle name. (Which is good as my
father's middle name is Lee).

Evan Lee Bowers

Chelsea Leigh Bowers

But Evan Austin and Chelsea Lynn sound pretty good, too. The hard part
for the middle name seems to be not to have it end with an "er" sound
or an "s" (or have too many syllables).

Keep those cards and letters coming.

678.7a few more combos...4EVER::MEHRINGThu May 16 1991 18:3518
I like your choices a lot, but here are some others to toss around:

	Chelsea Dana Bowers
	Chelsea Diane Bowers
	Dana-Leigh Bowers

For boys:

	Evan Jared Bowers
	Evan Keith Bowers
	Cameron Evan Bowers

Good luck!

678.8Just a suggestionPCOJCT::REISThu Jun 06 1991 18:2110
I love the name Chelsea Ann Bowers. The Ann kind of brings it to a
pause so it doesn't run together. Of course so do a lot of the others.
I'm just posing my favorite of the choices. As for Evan Lee, he might
run into other kids calling him heavenly. I like the name myself just
thought I'd bring up the possibilities of harassment. How's Evan Alexis
Bowers strike you? Again, just a suggestion...

    Good Luck

Just thought I'd drop in. 5 1/2 weeks to go. We _think_ we've settled
on a boys name, sticking with Evan Lee.

We've changed our minds about a girls name though, going from Chelsea
Lee to Chelsea Abigail to Lindsey Alanna.

I never thought choosing a name would be so hard. Guess that's why
    there's a notesfile like this. :^)

    Will keep you posted.
