670.0. "Baby Koczwara needs a name Quickly" by KUZZY::KOCZWARA () Wed Apr 17 1991 14:45

Only, two days left before I go on Maternity Leave, and only 2 1/2 weeks until
the due date and still my husband and I cannot agree on a boy's name. I wish
for the first name to reflex my heritage - Irish, which makes it tough with
a polish last name Koczwara - (Koz wa ra), but I feel very strongly about
this. My husband is part Polish and part French Canadian (Marc Robert). Our
son is (Kevin Marc) which works nice since it's Irish, short and blends with
our last name somewhat.

For Girl's name we've picked (or should I say Kevin picked)
	First Name Middle (?)
	---------- ------
We all like -
Meghan Nora (both my grandmothers' name)
				Marie(my middle name)
I like, but Marc doesn't
	Caitlin Marie
Marc likes
	Lauren

For Boys' Names we're considering

	First Name (?) Middle
	---------- ------
1.	Michael Paul - after my father
2.	Ryan Paul

 Considering but not likely -
	Patrick
	Brendan

Michael may be the one, but it is my husband's brother's name, so there would
be two Michaels in the family on his side none on mine. Boys' names already
used in my immediate family -
	Sean Michael
	Timothy Brian
	Paul Joseph (2)
	John Patrick (2)
	William (3)
	James (2)
	Brian Joseph
	Kevin Marc

All suggestions welcomed, until this Friday afternoon.

Thanks,

Pat K.

Michael Paul and Ryan Paul are both nice. Beware then name Michael, I
have never met a Michael that wasn't a little hellion - including my
husband! :-). Patrick and Brendan are both nice as well, not sure
    about Patrick Paul though.

I've never really cared for the name Meghan, don't know why, it just
rubs me the wrong way. I really like Lauren and Caitlin is cute, but
extremely popular. It would be nice to use Nora since it is both
grandmother's name, but it doesn't flow too easily with Lauren.
How about Colleen? Colleen Nora sounds great!

    Good luck,
    Carol

I agree with just about everything that .1 says, except that my nephew
Michael is an angel on earth. ;^) (one of 3 boys, he is the sweetest
    of the 3)

Thank-you for all your suggestions. The next week or so, we'll
be looking over the names and come to a decision. I told hubby
that if we don't come to an agreement before I fill out the birth
certificate, he may be surprised when finds out what I named the
    baby ;-)

    Thanks for all your help,

    Pat K.

Hate to disappoint you ... but Meghan is of Welsh rather than
Irish origin -- but it is commonly used in Ireland -- before anybody
    shoots me.

Almost left this world on Monday, May 20th thru Thursday the 22nd due

finally came home on June 2nd.

He's doing GREAT! Healthy, happy and cute as a button. Mom's still
