Hi my name is Vicky, I'm new to this conference. I am due in
September, and need a boy and girl's name. My last name is Lee. Any
    suggestions?

    How about something long?

    GIRLS

    Vanessa
    Francesca
    Jessica
    Stephanie
    Charlotte
    Christina/Christine
    Danielle
    Dominique
    Elizabeth
    Georgianna
    Jacqueline
    Samantha

    BOYS

    Christopher
    Nicholas
    Dominick
    Bartholomew
    Harrison
    Gregory
    Jonathan
    William

I know that quite of these names are VERY popular right now (Jennifer,
Jessica, Elizabeth) but a long first name goes so well with a short
    last name.

662.2NICE LAST NAMEOBSESS::PHELANWed Apr 03 1991 14:5319
I agree with noter .1 - A long first name compliments Lee very
nicely! What a GREAT last name to work with. So many names sound
beautiful with Lee! Think of how many people use Lee as a middle name!

    A few other suggestions:

    Rebecca Lee (Becky Lee)
    Amanda Lee
    Erica Lee
    Alexandra Lee

You may want to steer away from first names ending with the L sound
or an ee sound though i.e. Britaney Lee or DanieLLe Lee

    Good luck,

     - Christina

There's also: Vivian Lee (she was Scarlette in Gone With the Wind).
It is a very pretty name!

Diana Lee is pretty to? Diana Victoria Lee...

What kind of names do you like? What is
your full name as well as Dad's name?

    For boys:

Well, William Lee sounds nice but, he may be called Billy Lee (which
sort of sounds like Bill LeeLee) or Bill Lee - Unless you stick with
William all the time - that does sound nice. It's a good idea to list
the possible nick names also, just to see how they sound "in case".

    Joseph Lee (Joe Lee)
    Thomas Lee (Tom Lee)
Richard Lee (Rich Lee, Rick Lee, Ricky Lee)
Robert Lee (Bob Lee, Bobby Lee, Rob Lee, Robby Lee)
    Jonathan Lee (Jon Lee)
    Brian Lee
    Nathan Lee
Victor Lee (After you)! Vic Lee sounds like Vicky though

    Well, enough for now.

662.4Good suggestionsXCUSME::LIFE_CENTERWed Apr 03 1991 17:1013
My full name is Vicky Constance Lee and the fathers name is Bernard
Francis Lee (he goes by Bernie). I agree the name should be long...
I really love the name Hilary. But I'm not sure if I like the way it
sounds with Lee. Too many ee's? What do you think?

As for boys names, I'm stumped. I do like some of the names you listed
especially Gregory. But the nickname thing can be a problem...
Jonathon would be nice but not John.

I would really like something a little unique, but not odd.

    Thanks
    VCL

I like the long first names also, but would shy away from those that
are shortened to single syllables. For that reason, I would lean
towards a two (or three) syllable name with no common nicknames.
    Examples would be:

    Girls: Alexandra
     		Amanda
    		Rachel
    		Amber
    		Andrea
    		Cara
    		Tanya
   		Michelle

    Boys:	Derek
    		Jordan
    		Jason
    		Kevin
    		Alexander
    		Spencer

I agree with you that Hilary Lee is a little heavy on the l's and e's!

Actually, while Hilary Lee does sound a little heavy on the l and e's,
if you enunciate them clearly and disticntly, they do work quite well
    together.

Yeah, I know, I'm biased 'cuz one of my own is a Hilary ... but I
still think its not as awkward as it looks. Add the right middle name
    and it works very well!

    Like Hilary Jane Lee

662.8Robert E. LeeSTEREO::FAHELAmalthea Celebras, Silver UnicornThu Apr 04 1991 11:229
You might want to avoid the name Robert. That is one of my choices for
a first name, with the MIDDLE name Lee, but then thought there would be
a lot of jokes about "Robert E. Lee" (and my husband is from the
    South!)

When the time comes, I'm going with either Robert Kenneth or Robert
    Daniel.

And come on folks... you've always been right up there with a sense
of humor. How come nobody has mentioned "Sara" yet?

ANd by the way .0, CONGRATULATIONS!!! You'll love being a mom!
