601.0. "Suggestions for new Peabody..." by ACESMK::PEABODY () Thu Nov 01 1990 15:27

My second child is due in December (12/26), so I guess it is time to
start looking at names again! :} I could use any suggestions on names
which sound good with the last name of Peabody. My daughters name is
Shannon Elise. I like a lot of Gaelic names, but the name doesn't have
to be Gaelic. I also like names which aren't common, but don't want
    them too different.

Here are some of the names I like:

    Girl Boy
    ____ ___

    Kelsey Riley
    Kelley Tyler
    Ariel Kyle
    Danielle Andrew

I welcome any input on the names above, new names, middle
    names.....suggestions?!

    Scott Walter Peabody (husband)

    Hi,
For a list of Gaelic names, read notes 381 and 490. There are quite
a few listed in these two notes.

    Girls: Boys:
    Ariel Colleen Andrew Scott
    Erin Kelsey Aiden Tyler
    Danielle Patrice Iain Riley
    			  Devin Tyler
    			  Logan Scott
			  Cameron Scott

Though I like *all* the names on both your lists, I don't think
that the ones that end in -y or -ey sound very good when coupled
with Peabody...but that's just my opinion. Some of the names
that you have picked are quite common with newborns (Danielle,
Kyle, and Tyler) but are all amongst my favorites.

Maybe you'd consider Kendall or Kendra for a girl?

    Re: .2

Unfortunately.....I feel the same about the names ending in Y going
well with Peabody....but I hate to admit it! It seems that all of my
favorite names end in Y! ......Maybe a new husband could change that
    :}!

Peabody seems like such a harsh last name, so I would really like to
find a soft sounding first name, especially for a girl.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will look them over and consider some of
them. Some new boys names I added to our list this weekend:

    Craig Andrew
    Kevin
    Derrick

    Any more ideas?!

RE: .4 Well then there's two of us who really like the y-ending
first names who have y-ending last names! Oh well....

I love the name Derrick but prefer the spelling Derek. What do
you think? It sounds great with Peabody!
