585.2Humberto for a boy10881::JOHNSON_JOMon Sep 10 1990 18:559
    A Spanish man's name my wife really likes:

    Humberto

    Conveys strength and sensitivity.

    Not too sure about the Flabiana. I would reconsider
    that one if I were you, which I'm not, so the choice
    is yours...
585.3Favi for shortODIXIE::PACEMon Sep 10 1990 20:5014
    I guess I realy liked Flabiana because the short form is Favi. I never
    considered the consequences of the full name.

    This sounds like a name to consider! Thanks!

585.4Just Favi?32543::FAHELAmalthea CelebrasWed Sep 12 1990 11:159
    Why don't you just go with "Favi"? I mean, if you really like it. And
    a lot of names started out as nicknames (weren't Terry, Beth, Lisa and
    Tammy all nicknames at one time or another, but are common names in
    their own rights now?)

    Sorry, but the only Hispanic boy names that begin with J that I know
    are Juan and Jose.

585.5Go with V or Lose the LWOOK::LEEWook... Like 'Book' with a 'W'Wed Sep 12 1990 20:2216
    Some minor variants may prove more acceptable:

    Flaviana
    Flavina
    Faviana
    Favina
    Fabiana
    Fabina

    Definitely stay away from Flab...

    For boys names starting with J, there's also Jorge, Jaime, and Jesus
    which are all common Spanish names corresponding to George, James and
    Joshua.

	>in January....our fourth). Flabiana.  I don't know what it means but I
    	>think that it's a very pretty name.

    	Sorry that I can't tell you what the meaning of the name is, but
    	I do know that a friend of mine's sister is named Fabiana and
    	they are from South America.

    	I was also going to make mention of the Flabby Anna teasing
    	possibility.... Flaviana or Fabiana would be better suited,
    	IMHO.
