| Well, here's what I think...for what it's worth...
Jade?...Jaded, thumbs down
Emerald?..sounds like a regal man's name, thumbs up!
Opal...I don't know why, but it sounds like a pet's name..thumbs
down
Amethyst..It's a mouthful, but I like it for a girl..thumbs up!
Lapis.....too close to Lupis, thumbs down
Saphire...depending on the last name..strong woman's name...thumbs
up!
Gem...Isn't that a defunct dept. store? thumbs down
Slate/Slade...Unique bays name..thumbs up!
Pearl...I like it!!thumbs up!
Garnet..I like it for a boy!!thumbs up!!
Ruby..I relly like this also..we're on a role..thumbs up!!
Diamond...I don't know..what's the last name..????no vote
Topaz...by Ford?? thumbs down
Onyx....Nixon sideways..sorry. Thumbs down
Silver..for a name? I don't know.
Pretty good outcome though. My wife and I rejected virtually %100
of the names we both thought up.
But they are all much much better than RALPH...
Keep in touch...keep thinking up those names!
Merry & Happy

| Or how about Alexandria (for Alexandrite - June). Or Turquoise.
Garnet would be better for a girl. Or Tourmaline.
Or how about the flowers of the months:
Carnation, Violet, Jonquil, Sweet Pea (Gag!), Lily (of the Valley),
Rose, Larkspur, Poppy, Morning Glory, Calendula, Chrys(anthemum),
Holly.
