456.0. "Announcing Joshua" by ELMAGO::PHUNTLEY () Sat Oct 28 1989 13:31

    Announcing Joshua William O'Neil Huntley!!! After nine long months
    our precious little boy was born June 19, 1989 ( 1 day past his
    due date). I had turned a lot of names over in my mind and I don't
    think I really ever thought seriously about Joshua until I saw Josh
    for the first time. Somehow the minute I saw him he was a "Joshua"
    and not Anthony, Jacob, Aaron or any of the other names we had picked
    for boys.

    Josh has been pure heaven since he was born!! We are so happy with
    him! Sure he has his days--but then who doesn't? He is a very
    happy, healthy, active little guy and seems to be doing things ahead
    of schedule. He broke his first tooth through yesterday, rolls
    over both ways very easily, "scoots" on his tummy to get around,
    and makes all kinds of great noises.

    Although Joshua has four names we use Joshua William Huntley on
    everything except his birth certificate. And everyone has their
    nicknames for him already. His daddy calls him "Josher--the wonder
    baby", I call him Josh or Joshie, the kids at daycare call him
    "Dosh" as they can't quite get out the J sound, his nana calls him
    "Goshua!" , etc. We try to keep nicknames close to Joshua so that
    he will not get confused. He does seem to recognize his name already
    and responds with a smile. His daddy wanted his nickname to be
    JW but I told him that he would have to tell everyone along the
    way, "My name is Joshua but I go by JW". After that my husband
    dropped that idea as he has gone through his life saying, "My name
    is William but I use my middle name, Brent."

    Anyhow, Joshua is here and I can't imagine him being any other name!

456.1Welcome, Joshua!STEREO::FAHELAmalthea Luincarandir/Silver UnicornMon Oct 30 1989 10:098
    On WCGY (Boston/southern NH), the morning newscaster has a son named
    Joshua, and he has been nicknamed Nashua!  (It is a running joke;
    I don't think that Joshua, who is 2 1/2 years old, is even aware
    of it.)

    Congradulations!
