423.0. "Need names that go with CREAN" by CURIE::CREAN () Wed Aug 09 1989 19:01

Well, we're coming down to the wire (only 6 1/2 weeks to go) and we
still haven't picked out names. So, I hope you folks can help...

We're leaning toward Caitlin for a girl but can't decide on a middle
name. I know many of you would suggest not using the same first
initial for the first and last names, but we really like the name
Caitlin. On the other hand, I would love to hear any of your
    suggestions.

For a boy, I like the idea of using John for a middle name. My
husband's and father's middle name is John.

    Eagerly awaiting your responses,
    - Terry

    Hi Terry,

I'm NOT one of those people who thinks you shouldn't have the same
first and last initial. If you like Caitlin (my favorite spelling
for that name, by the way) and it sounds good with your last name
(and it does) then you should go for it. Now about a middle name...
I tend to like very traditional names for middle names - like
Mary, Marie, Ann, Elizabeth, etc. I think Mary sounds cute with
Caitlin. It's simple, yet dignified. Oh well, just my 2c...

I'm afraid I don't have too many suggestions for a boy - since
I can't even find one that I really like for my own child if it's
a boy. Well, I like several but my husband has different ideas.
I tend to go for the Gaelic names like Ian, Evan, Colin, etc.
but I'm not sure if any of those go too well with your last name.
I do think you can go for something not too simple, however, because
your last name is so short. Maybe you should take a look around
the file for names suggested to people with one-syllable last names.
You might find something you like. Good luck!

Gee - this most definately is a little late. But, just for the record,
how about Daniel Crean for a boy?
