418.0. "Cinnamon" by MEMIT::KBOOTH () Fri Aug 04 1989 16:24

    I have recently gotten married and my husband, Timothy Booth, likes the
    name Cinnamon. There was a song maybe from the 40's or 50's with a
    girl named Cinnamon. While we were dating he played the tape constantly.
    With a last name like Booth ~ he'd like to "spice" it up! (:

    I haven't decided yet if I should let him name her. He says for a
    nickname we could name her Cindy, and she would never feel embarrased
    about her name . . . I said we might call her Cindy but the kids in
    school may call her Cin! :} .

    I guess he'd like a little excitement in our family tree. (We aren't
    related to John Wilkes (: ) But for me my maiden name was DeBettencourt.
    I sort of like Booth. Short/and simple is nice for a change (:

418.1Cinnamon Girl?CLOVE::MACDONALD_KTue Aug 08 1989 14:0211
    re:.0

    Is the song you're referring to the one sung by Neil Young?
    If that's the case, then her name wasn't Cinnamon - she was
    just the "Cinnamon Girl". Anyway, I guess it's an interesting
    name, but I think it sounds a little too "stuck in the sixties".
    As long as you're on the subjects on spices and such, my girlfriend
    (yes, she's an old hippie) named her daughter Sage.

    I don't think "Cinnamon Girl" could be the song since she said it
    was from the 40's or 50's. I think you could get away with naming
    a girl Cinnamon, but she may get teased a lot. Just be prepared
    to help her through it.

    Oh yes... I guess I didn't read the base note too well.

    I'm sorry, but I don't like it at all. I know I wouldn't want to be
    named Cinnoman and I wouldn't stick my daughter with the name either.

418.5NO Cinnamon Please ~MEMIT::KBOOTHThu Aug 10 1989 12:019
    Thanks everyone! I will offer these very good suggestions to my
    husband I doubt very much that he would want to have our daughter
    picked on in school. I guess I'll keep reading these notes for ideas.
    To tell you the truth I like the name Samantha (:

    Thanks Again.
