404.0. "Toni" by ZONULE::RIORDAN () Thu Jul 13 1989 15:26

    My name is Toni.

I always like growing up with the name Toni because everyone found
that is was so unique and complimented me on it. There aren't too
many females out there names Toni. Most think it is an abbrevia-
tion for something else but it isn't in my case.

My friend told me that Toni meant "priceless". I am not sure where
    the name comes from.

One problem...going through high school teachers used to expect
a boy to reply to the name and when they saw I was a female, they
still called me Anthony in a fun, friendly way.

My middle name is Lynn which to me is the perfect middle name.

    Toni

    Hi Toni,
I tried to find out some informations about the origin
    and meaning of your name.
Also in Italy it comes from Antonio. Other nicknames: Antonello,
Antonino, Tonino, Tonio, and...Toni. Indeed they are all male names.
For females we use Antonia, Antonina, Tonia.
Antonio comes from Ercole's son Anteone, which comes from Greek
"anteo". This means"to oppose to somebody" or "brave fighter".
Toni is used also in German.
Antonio has his name day on June 13th.
Anyway, also for me (I'm Italian), Toni Lynn sounds very nice.

    					Ciao
