| Cindy,
My first reaction to Charity is it is pretty. But...I think she could
be up for some teasing as she gets older..little boys can be cruel.
Charity gives it for free??? I had a nickname in college that was
given to me by my friends. My name is JoEllen and the nickname
was Jello. Anyway, some new freshman boys moved into our corridor
the next year. One day I came back to a note asking me just what
'flavor' I was. My friends promptly stopped calling me by their pet
name 'Jello'.
As far as Travis Devin. I am expecting...I had wanted Devin Padraic
for a boy, but my husband wanted nothing to do with Devin. Travis
is getting to be a very popular name. I know several that are under
six years old. How about finding a middle name to go with Devin Lilly?
Just some thoughts......Jo (no longer called jello)

So why not just call her Faith or Hope? Seriously, these
names have several advantages over Charity. First, they're
not sing-songy (re your husband). Second, they're less
directly associated with the noun where they come from (re
.1). I think Charity is rather a lovely name, but it
definitely doesn't go with Lilly. I don't think a middle
name would help much.

I agree with .1 -- Travis may very well become the Justin
of the 90s. I think Devin is becoming very popular too.
Also, it's used for girls as well as boys. Though this is
not a problem for a girl's name, it can be for a boy's.
