339.0. "Names for girls" by DLNVAX::HENLEY () Tue Jan 24 1989 20:00

Just browsed through this for ideas about boys names. Sure can
think about LOTS of pretty names for girls. Some names I haven't
    seen mentioned for girls:

    Julia
    Cynthia
    Louisa

I think these are all very pretty, especially if you use the full
    name and not a nickname.

My husband and I have decided on names when we have children.

    	If it's a girl:

    		Kylie Corinne Simpson

Corinne is my mum's middle name, also a family name passed
down from generation to generation since her Great-Grandmother.

    -Mitch-

P.S. Anyone know the origin of Kylie? I have not been able to
    	  find it anywhere.

	From Dunkling and Gosling:

From the language of the Aborigines of Western Australia.
Listed in a vocabulary of 1832 as "curl, curled stick or
boomerang." It use as a girl's Christian name has been
confined almost exclusively to Australia, where in 1975
it was the third most frequently used name for girls born
	  that year.

Still want to name her Kylie?

    Yup,

I live in the states and had only heard of it once. I thought it
was neat, real different but still obviously a feminine name, not
one that can go either way.

Kylie seems to come from the Irish Gaelic name Kyle. It means
    handsome; living near the chapel.

Favorite girls names; Adara, Chloe, Stephanie, Camille, Aurora,
    Stormy, Charity, Nicole and Megan.

Well, actually as a child my neighbor named her boy Kylie, although I
don't know how it was spelled, I never liked it for a boy.
