    My name is Vara.  The a is pronounced like the a in car.  My
    parents picked it out of a baby book (I have 2 aunts Vera and Verna).
    
    I looked it up once in a baby book.  It is a derivative of Varvara,
    that's the slavic form of Barbara.
    
    I like it because it is so unusual.
