What kind of sub is it, and is it on land or in the water?
I am a fan of subs (the kind that sails, not the kind you eat). As far as I
know, there is only one American sub on dry land in the U.S. that tourists can
go inside, and it is in Portsmouth, NH. The others I know of are a German sub on
dry land in Chicago, the Nautilus in the water at New London, CT, and this one
in New York.

If the sub is located by the Intrepid then it must be in water. I
don't know for sure but that is my guess.

re: Intrepid's sub... from passing by I'd say it's an old diesel sub
that was converted to carry missles before they came from the "factory
with the missle and nuclear engine options". There's a misshapen hump
aft of the conning tower that looks like a Rube Goldberg attachment.

Also, about forty minutes drive from Manhattan, there is a WWII vintage
sub in the water in northern NJ that is available for tours and
    "birthday parties"; the Ling.
