948.0. "Barron's home delivery? or On-line? Survey" by SOLVIT::CARLTON () Wed Dec 06 1995 03:26

                                BARRON'S SURVEY

As part of an MBA entrepreneurship course assignment, I'm surveying the market
potential for a better alternative to subscribing to Barron's financial weekly
(and receiving it via the US Postal Service) or purchasing it at a newsstand or
other retail location. If you're interested and would like to help, please
complete the attached brief survey and post your reply reply to this note, or
send your reply to me at Solvit::Carlton by Sunday, Dec. 10th. Note, this
is intended to be informational vs. scientific. Thanks.

	1. Do you currently subscribe to Barron's? (if no go to 3.)

	2. Are you satisfied with your delivery service from the US Postal
Service? (If not, why not? Then go to 4.)

	3. Do you purchase Barron's regularly at a newsstand or other retail
    	   location? Where?

	4. Would you prefer timely, reliable home delivery or on-line computer
	   availability?

		- If on-line computer availability is preferred, are you
aware of or do you use Barron's On-line? I believe it's
currently available through the Dow Jones News Retrieval
service and may be available through Prodigy or Compuserve.
It's not currently available on America Online.

		- If home delivery is preferred, what would "timely and
reliable home delivery" specifically mean to you to meet
    		  your needs and expectations?

	5. Currently, a regular Barron's subscription costs $135 per year or
    	   $69 for 6 months; that's about $2.60 - $2.65 per issue. The
newsstand/retail price is $3.00 per issue.

		- How much of a total price per issue would you be willing to
pay for such timely, reliable home delivery?

			$3.00	$3.25	$3.50	$3.75	$4.00	OTHER

		- Would you be willing to prepay this amount by check, just
like a subscription, for 3, 6, or 12 months for this service?

Thanks for taking the time to provide me your input.
