| Hi Bob,
My wife subscribed to the WSJ Personal Business monthly magazine
(we've just started getting it and, to be honest, I'm not sure of the
exact name of the magazine but it's close to what I wrote) and in
the latest issue (SEPT '94) there's an article on the Internet and
the various sources available for investment information.

The banner above the title says "The WSJ magazine for personal
business" which is what I'd remembered.

On the World-Wide Web go to
http://www.secapl.com/cgi-bin/qsx
and request the stock quotation for a company. On the resulting page
you'll be offered the chance to click and get its latest 10K.

| These are latest kits that I know about. There are MOSAIC executables
for UNIX, Windows, VMS, etc.
This is a fairly complicated piece of software to install, though very
easy to operate once it is up. If you're not a system manager type,
you're going to have to get some help.
There's a nice, approachable paper at:

| Yeah, I noticed yesterday when I was cleaning up that this place seems
to have disappeared. Since I brought it up, I've put the paper in the
default directory on my workstation.
DIR CWBNGA::MOSAIC-CLIENT-SETUP.PS
ought to workl.
By the way, I'm not the author of this paper, nor am I associated with
THE TEP program that produced it. This paper may disappear at anytime
from my node.

There are a number of free services on Compuserve where
you can do an online lookup by company.
Before I continue my own exploration.....
I'd like to be able to download data.
The closing prices of everything is my goal.
Rather tim intensive one stock at a time.
Then if I could download those reports listed previously,
merge it all togeather and create a report by P/E, etc.

I found note 73.*...
Anything else out there.
I'm more interested in downloading raw data (from 1 or more sources)
& writing my own application than purchasing it all.
Thanks,

For $9.95/month charged to your credit card, quote.com will let you
ftp closing prices on a dialy basis. Here's an extract from their
basic subscription blurb:
"On our ftp server, we keep files with end-of-day updates for all ticker
symbols. You may download the files for the U.S. exchanges at no
additional charge. In this way you can get updates on over 20,000
domestic symbols. They are ASCII, comma-delimited files which can be
imported into most charting programs.
