755.0. "The Wall Street Journal (WSJ)" by SYSTEM::NELSON () Fri Aug 05 1994 08:29

     	I searched this notesfile for titles with` Wall Street Journal'
    	and for `WSJ' and didn't find a note, so I thought I'd start
    	one.

    	Does anybody know where I can get electronic copies of
    	the Wall Street Journal? There was an article several
    	weeks ago that I'd like to have in electronic form.

    	Is there a source (server?) somewhere on the net (WWW?)?

755.2Can you download?56517::BERSONMon Aug 08 1994 13:4512
Jerry,

Have you had any experience using DJ Retrieval? I'm curious if
you can download articles or do you have to read them on-line.

I happen to subscribe to both Barron's and the Wall Street Journal
which are publications of DJ. I'm curious if this might be an
alternative to receiving these publications.

I'd be interested if someone would post what services are available.

755.3Download? Don't know for sure, but I'd think so...ASDG::HORTONPaving the info highway with siliconMon Aug 08 1994 15:5511
Bob,

   No, I have not yet used their on-line services.
   I was thinking about signing on to the on-line market data package,
   and I didn't pay much attention to the news retrieval service.
   It's likely that if you can read the info on a screen then you should
   be able to download whatever you want. Call DJ and ask for their
   information packet.

755.6Some homepages from the WSJMETSYS::NELSONFri Jul 07 1995 12:3824
            There is a free service called the `Personal
            Technology Home Page' from Walt Mossberg of the WSJ:

                    http://ptech.wsj.com

            Currently, the WSJ (ie., Dow Jones) has available two
            fee based services from the Journal Online:

                    Personal Journal

                    Dow Jones News/Retrieval

            Coming soon there will be:

                    Money & Investing Update

                    Wall Street Journal Interactive Edition

            You can get to the Journal Online from:

    I recently read in a book that one could get average P/E ratios for
    various industries from the WSJ - handy for roughly benchmarking a
    stock against it's peers - but I can't find that info summarized
    that way. Does anyone know if it exists, and if so where one
    could find it?

    Look in Barron's, published by the same folks who do the WSJ.
    There's a section titled approximately "Dow Jones Industry Groups".
    It should have what you want.
