358.0. "New Millenium Fund" by TPSYS::SHAH (Amitabh Shah - Just say NO to decaf.) Tue Jan 19 1993 14:36

Today's WSJ reports that Fidelity is starting a new fund, called
New Millenium, that will allow smaller investors to access the kinds
of stratigies only available to larger investors.

In particular, this fund has an almost unrestricted charter in terms
of what it can invest in. It can invest in any number of stocks, bonds,
international instruments, currencies, and can use derivatives such
	as options and futures.

	Minimum investment is (only) $2500.

	Any opinions?

Mutual Fund Investors Association has a wait and see on Millenium. They
currently recommend Value, Low-Priced Stock, Equity-Income II, and Europe funds
for growth oriented investors. As of 12/31/92

As of Jan , MFIA says OK to buy, but on due to fact that historically
new growth funds do OK: he will update again in upcoming months.

I saw the article too. It sounds interesting. They are sending
    me a prospectus.

BTW, this is a loaded fund @ 3%. Front end, I believe, but I'm not
    100% sure on that yet.
