343.0. "DS ISA on NT 4.0 unable to create registry subkey" by ALFSS2::OLSEN_G (Hey y'all, how y'all doin'?) Mon Mar 31 1997 21:08

    Jeff, et.al.,

    I have a customer trying to install a RoamAbout DS 915 ISA card in a
    Monorail PC - one of those new "network PCs" - sort of a portable
    desktop. Has NT 4.0 Workstation on it.

    He tried installing it before he called, using the NDIS2 drivers, I
    think (Why don't we put the new drivers on the diskette?), and of
    course it failed. He called, we told him to get the new drivers off
    the Web and he did. Now when he tries to install it, he sets the
    roaming params (network id) and it starts copying files. Then it gives
    him an error..

    	Unable to create services subkey in Registry.

    We checked the registry - found a WaveLAN key and deleted it - still
    failed.

    Have you heard of this before? I don't have a DS ISA card to test.

    Thanks,

    Gary

343.1Try V3.50 PC Card for the ISA NT 4.0 installation.IROCZ::SCHWARTZTue Apr 15 1997 03:1914
    Hi Gary,

    We have tried it here and I know that it works fine.

    He needs to make sure that all reminence of the NDIS2 driver really get
    removed. If there was anything that stated WaveLAN, it was from the
    NDIS2 driver.

    He should pull down the PC Card version V3.50 as it has a slightly new
    driver. I had tested the V3.30 with NT 3.51, but I don't think it was
    ever tested on NT 4.0. I have personally run NT 4.0 with the V3.50
    kit. The V3.50 kit for the PC Card will work fine with the ISA card.

343.295/NT drivers do ship with all DS cards.IROCZ::SCHWARTZTue Apr 15 1997 03:216
    PS: The 95/NT drivers are included with all DS options know. The ISA
    has been shipping from Digital docks since early summer with the 95/NT
    drivers. The PC Cards have only been shipping the past month or so
    with the 95/NT drivers.
