Folks I have a customer who is running TSM V2.1 Eco 5 on VMS V6.2 with DECnet/OSI 6.3 ECO 6. The customer has also installed DNVOSIV63-ECO6-EXTRA.BCK;1 which contains a number of fixes to OSI. When doing a use server from within TSM, and he holds down a keystroke, there is a delay of about 2 or 3 seconds before the cursor catches up. Now I realize that this is probably normal, as I was seeing this on my setup in the CSC. But when the customer goes into pasthru mode, and types "DEFINE PORT" he only gets "DEFNE PRT". The customer insists that this is not a typo. If he continues to use the server, he thrown off with a CCR-Response Timeout. The server is a ds200 running Bl40. Does anybody have any ideas? Is this expected because the DS200 is old hardware, or are we seeing a problem here. Regards Steven Freke UK CSC

Steven, Is the system with TSM and the terminal on the same network, as if they are, this is not a normal response, and no, the ds200 should not be the cause of this problem. If this is a 56kb link, or something similar to this, this could be caused by congestion, etc on the link. Darrell Shavey | |||||

Darrell Unfortunatley the customer left the company, and took his problem with him. No word from the customer, so the call was closed. Thanks for the help though. Steven |
