950.0. "Circuitry Man" by RGB::REDFORD () Thu Jan 31 1991 02:06

    Out now on video; I don't think it ever made it into the
    theaters. Low budget cyberpunk. The heroine is hired by a
    gangster to be her bodyguard during an illicit chip deal. The
    deal goes sour when the police break it up, and she flees across
    country with the chips and with a robot driver programmed to be a
    gigolo. She is pursued by a creature called Plughead, who has
    D25 connectors embedded in his bald scalp. Much chasing, some
    moralizing about ecological destruction, a bit of S&M, a nice
    computer graphic for the title. Not worth it.

    PS Plughead is played by Vernon Wells, who I believe was the
    demon biker Wez in The Road Warrior.

    Sounds like William Gibson has grounds for a plagarism suit here.

    This one is only a tad bit better than Moon 44, which is a total bore.

    Maybe not..they are both equally bad.

950.3Didn't really like this one.POCUS::LAMFri May 10 1991 22:338
    I saw this on cable along with another low budget dud called "I Come In
    Peace", they were on one right after the other. I liked this one
    better than "I Come In Peace". "Circuitry Man" was in the theatres
    here in New York City for about a week. As you can see it didn't last
    long. The only thing I liked in the whole movie was the song that was
    sung by Deborah Holland in the very beginning. The rest of the movie
    was a real sleeper. Id give it a 2 out of 10; whereas, "I Come In
    Peace" would get a 1.
