930.0. "Mick Farren" by NEWOA::BAILEY (What?) Thu Nov 08 1990 21:23

Is there anyone else with an interest in the works of Mick Farren?

(if nothing else could you point out the holes in my collection
.. and hopefully a source for same)

I've got (in vaguely chronological order)

The Texts of Festival
The Quest of the DNA cowboys \
The Neural Atrocity |- trilogy
Synaptic Manhunt /
The Song of Phaid the gambler
Protectorate
C.O.R.P.S.E
Exit Funtopia
Their Masters war
Armageddon Crazy

(it could well be claimed that MF has only one or two plot
lines (decaying civilization living off the remains of the
past).. but with his later books (CORPSE/Exit Funtopia etc)
he seems to have broken away from his early limits)

You missed two of his books that come to mind:

The DNA cowboys ride again.

And there is a second book in the "Phaid the Gambler" World/series.
Wether there will be more is unkown to me.

grins,

clark.

spoiler -

The DNA cowboys ride again is the last book chronologicaly in that series...
It would appear that Farren was a Buch Cassidy/Sundance Kid fan... :-)

I forgot about mars.

Of what I have read of his so far, mars was my least favorite...

I don't even remember there being a jack the ripper character in it...

grins,

clark.

I regularly check the shelves at Forbidden Planet in London - it's
difficult to find any books by Mick Farren! Haven't seen anything in
    Interzone either.

    Regards.
