129.0. ""San Diego lightfoot Sue" ??" by YORICK::BOWIE () Thu Sep 06 1984 14:52

The above is the title of a short story I read a few years ago, and I would
like to find a copy of it. If anybody knows the author and possibly any
anthologies it might be found in, I would be very gratefull.

I confess, I haven't read thru the rest of this file - so apologies if it is
already mentioned. Also, it was a few years so even the title may not be 100%
accurate.

Thanks,
	Scott

You can probably find the story in a collection by the same name.

"San Diego Lightfoot Sue" was written by Tom Reamy, a MAJOR talent, who
died tragically young. His death was our loss....

I believe the collection was released about a year ago.

That's'a'right. It appeared in paperback from Ace Books. A terrific collection.
Another story in the collection, "Twilla", is also a wonderful story. You might
also want to hunt down Reamy's one novel, BLIND VOICES, which I believe is
currently out-of-print, but isn't hard to find in a good used-book store. Well
worth the search. Interestingly enough, "Twilla", "San Diego Lightfoot Sue",
and BLIND VOICES all share a common background world, as characters from one
appear in the others.

Thanks a lot. Its always good to hear that what you thought might have been
a one-shot-wonder turns out to have written more stuff. I'll be looking out
for the collection and the novel with eager anticipation!

Thanks again,
