1401.0. "Dive Shops in Boston near Digital ??" by CHEFS::16.37.8.201::HOWELLJ () Thu Apr 10 1997 11:52

Hi

A friend to going to Digital Boston soon, and I was wondering if
there were any Dive shops near by, where I could persuade him
to purchase some equipment for me ???

So any Dive Shops near the Digital Office in Boston ?

Many thanks

    Well, that would depend on which Digital Office in "Boston" you're
    talking about. There are Digital offices all over the place around here
    just as there are dive shops.

    That one's in Maynard, MA. I *think* that Mass Diving, East Coast
    Divers, and Acton Scuba are all about equidistant from that facility.
    If he's looking to buy equipment, there is a dive shop in the
    Fitchburg-Leominster area, the name of which escapes me at the moment
    ("mumble-mumble Ski & Scuba") that almost always has the best prices
    for the same equipment.

    There is another note in this conference where the various Boston area
    dive shops are discussed. Enter dir/title=shop at the Notes> prompt,
    and you'll find it somewhere in the list.

    I will volunteer to show him around, if I'm in town at the time. So
    have him send me mail. There are a lot of friendly souls in this
    conference, and if I can't do it, somebody else undoubtedly can.

Great, many thanks

I'm specifically after a Zeagle Ranger Jacket - none left in UK and
they are not shipping until end of month (!) - I'm off to Red Sea
on 16th of May and would ideally like a new jacket for that.

    Well, if you'd like, you can send me mail and let me know what size
    you're looking for. I can spend a few minutes on the phone while I'm in
    town and see who might have what you're looking for in stock.

	"mumble, mumble" is Andy's Sport Shop (508) 343-6330. They
	carry Zeagle (got my Tech there).

	There is also a new (in Nov) Northeast Scuba in Chelmsford
	(very close to 495). I believe they also carry Zeagle
	(508) 256-2300.  Acton Scuba (508) 263-1611 also does.

1401.7many thanks for your helpREOFIN::16.37.8.185::HOWELLJMon Apr 14 1997 09:1613
I must say I am very impressed with how helpful you are all being,
not had much contact with the States before and very grateful for all
the info. :-)

I am after a Zeagle Ranger (new style - curved shoulders!)
Size medium/medium with soft back pack, tech pocket, and weight
pouches. If anyone knows how much they retail for as well (!) I can
give my friend a little money up front, which I'm sure he'd
appreciate !

Many thanks for all your help in here

1401.8recent price (may have been sale)JAMIN::GOBLEMon Apr 14 1997 13:096
    I believe I recently saw a price of 435 dollars, which is probably
    on the low side. The average price would probably range to 500
    dollars.
