Hi,

A customer started several installation jobson about 100 clients.
After some time the server didn't respond, so he crashed it.
In the dump are 199 RSM$RE_* processes.
From whre come these processes?

MAny thanks

What image are they running? My guess is RSM$RECEIVER, which is a
DECnet object (not *known* object), so there'll be at least one process
per client. If there are 100 clients being services simultaneously,
then I'd expect to see at least 100 receivers listening to them
simultaneously, depending upon what they are doing. Would I expect
more than one receiver per client? Maybe. It all depends upon what
    they are doing.

Are each of those receiver processes (if that's indeed what they are)
connected to their clients? Are any of them sub-processes?

I'm not convinced that what you are seeing is necessarily wrong. Your
system may have seemed hung simply because it was *very* busy.
