I couldn't wait nor could I pay for either the solution from CA or from
ki NETWORKS (I still can't believe we have to pay to use DECnet software)
but it looks like there is a workaround for now at least. I tried the
workaround suggested in .2 and it didn't work for me but I was able to get
PDM 2.1 to install and work under UNIX 4.0B and TME10 Netview 4.1c
After you blow out the kit, edit the appropriate script files (xxxx.scp)
located in the instctrl directory
Change references of OSFBASE3?? to OSFBASE4??
DNABASE3?? to DNABASE4??
DNAMOP3?? to DNAMOP4??
DNANETMAN3?? to DNANETMAN4??
I then changed the group ownership of the files to system, chgrp system *
This may not be necessary but it makes for a cleaner installation.
The PDMBASE210 component also needed to have the /usr/opt/PDMBASE210 directory
created beforehand otherwise it cannot "touch" it's status/flag files
I had to update both the POLY-DECNET-MGR and POLY-NETVIEW licenses even though
neither were invalid nor expired.
I haven't tested all functionality but I do know I can now use mcc_evc_send
from legacy systems.
