190.0. "EDT funny." by KLOV02::BROWN () Tue Jan 14 1986 17:15

Any of you EDT users out there might like to try getting help on the define

command. I recommend

             HELP DEFINE * *

		    from inside EDT (at the * prompt) and see what you think.

This is interesting (?) on V4.2 anyway......

Anyone know why it does it though ?

I do not want to give away too much, you can try for yourself, but
I do advice you not to do this after a long editing session.

No problem on VMS V3.7 though. 4.2 is bad.

I just tried this and it didn't do anything unexpected. Would someone like
to give me a clue? (VMS V4.2)

You must type HELP DEFINE * * if you try with * * * it works fine. It happens
on V4.3 and also uVMS V4.4. Try it and see :-)}

So, where's the QAR?

For those of you who didn't see the problem, re-read .0

It specifically says 'at the *' (prompt).

If you do a <PF1> 7 to get the 'Command:' prompt, everything works fine.
