    micro fortnights are about equal to 1 second each. I'd like to
    know who came up with this.
300.3TLE::BRETTFri Aug 29 1986 17:117
    I believe it's an Andy Goldstein special - people shouldn't be playing
    with parameters measured in uFN's so this is a way of muddying the
    waters a little.

    Anyone know for sure?

The security stuff has many nice acronyms. FBI is in there, too.

    	The microfortnights was a small note of sarcasm about the 730,
    because it does not have a battery backed-up clock. There was also
    a product description flyer describing the SD-730 (sundial peripheral).

	I suppose the 'Credits' that SCSFLOWCUSH is measured in
	relates in some way to the machines gambling debts ?

    A microfortnight is approximately 1.21 seconds, or 121 clock ticks.

    My all-time favorite is the so-called "Failed UniBus Address Register".
    You may find it in the Hardware Handbook, under the architecture
    descriptions. I always wanted to meet the engineer who came up with
    that one.

Reminds me of the old PDP's sysgen ">SET/TEABREAK=TI:" vs. "SET/COFFEEBREAK=TI:"
(according to previous response of 50 hz. vs. 60 hz.)

    Then there was the SET HOST(ESS) command on TOPS-10.

    Of course, they had to have a node called TWINKY, so one could
    SET HOSTESS TWINKY.

Found in SYSmumble.SDL's (various):

KGB = Key Grant Block
CIA = Compound Intrusion Attempt

I cant shed any light on NSA, and cant find FBI anywhere.
