    At first I thought it was going to be another rip off of a TNG plot
    but that changed the minute Chakotay got out and saw the people.
    I knew they would find a way to use him, and had this in mind when they
    convinced him it was the only way he could be heeled.
    At the end when he was complaining to the captain about them forcing to
    do something againt his will I got the idea we will be seeing these

    It was good to see a connection with TNG and to know that there is a
    life after being Borg.  It was kinda scary to see the Borg cube startup
    like that.  It was like "oh, oh...warp 10 outa here!" 
    We picked up right away that Reilly wasn't what she seemed to be.  Are
    we going to see her again with a little Chakotay? 8^) 

    We never got an explanation why the cube was in the Delta quadrant.
    You would think after the "cooperative" got Chakotay to turn on the 
    generators and then they blewup the cube, Janeway would have contacted
    Reilly and her "cooperative" instead of just leaving.  I would really 
    want to know more about the Borgs from firsthand experience.  Janeway 
    wanted to checkout their technology but here was living breathing people 
    who were once Borg.  Couldn't they learn more from these people?  
    I would think so.  I have a feeling that these people will be back.

The actions of the Voyager crew were well done.  The fear of dealing with a
Borg ship, curiosity about the technology, etc., came through well.  The
ex-Borg collective is a puzzling thing; it isn't clear whether they are going
to wind up being friendly or malevolent.  I wonder if we'll see them again.  I
do hope something from this episode hangs around -- knowledge about the Borg,
or further encounters, or something like that.

I was a little surprised that they didn't ask about Borg technology when they
had a friendly group of ex-Borg sitting in front of them.  I was also a little
surprised that there was no mention in either this episode or the last one that
the Borg were supposed to originate in the Delta quadrant.

Did that Borg in sick bay activate when the power was reconnected?  :-)

The Borg ship has a breathable atmosphere at an acceptable temperature even
when powered off.  They are so considerate!

Still, this was a really enjoyable episode.  We've had a really good run
recently of VOY and DS9, it's been quite a ride.

    I was a little surprised that the "commune" was so willing to impose
    it's will on so many other individuals.  I realise it was a life or
    death situation for them, but sometimes death is preferable to the
    alternative.
    
    Who is going to rule this new collective?  the dominant personality? 
    could that be evil as well as good?  Chatokay did say that he wondered
    how long their ideals would survive that much power...

I've never been so upset.  I don't usually complain about Voyager episodes,
but did the writers of this show even watch "Best of Both Worlds"?  The woman
says she was assimilated at Wolf 359...  That Borg ship, the one at Wolf 359
was DESTROYED with all hands...  It did not escape only to be shut down at a
later date...  I almost shut the show off at that point...  I'm not going to
buy that the ship at Wolf 359 somehow transported the people to another ship
in the Delta quadrant, no way.  

If that line had not been there, then I would have enjoyed the program.  But
with that line, it just proves that TPTB do not care what has gone before, 
they are just going to make up things as they go along...  Before this I
thought Voyager did TRY to keep continuity.  But this error is just too huge.
If we accept this, then the Federation should be assimilated now...

If there was more than one Borg cube at Wolf 359, wouldn't the Federation
all be Borg by now?  Also, you think it would be something the Admiral would
have mentioned...

There is no reasonable explaination why the Voyager writers did this.

One thing that would've been nice is if the humans had come from the
outposts destroyed in The Neutral Zone, we don't know what happened to
that Borg ship (if it was Borg at all).  Plus we know that Romulan
outposts were attacked too.  That would've be great...

    I agree with you, but where did the borg queen come from in the movie?
    There was some lame explanation for that, something about not being so
    two dimensional.

Here's my take on the Borg Queen.

The Queen states that she is Borg, the one who is all.  I take that to mean
that the Collective itself is a conscious entity, and that she is the physical
representation of that entity.  As if each Borg were an individual cell of her 
brain, or something like that.

When Picard expresses confusion at her ability to survive the destruction of
the Borg cube from BOBW, she chastises him for thinking "three-dimensionally".
Basically, Picard thought of her as an individual, as just the phyisical being
when she is actually so much more.  Though a body she was using was destroyed,
she lives on because she is much more than just the body.

So, she did not "physically" leave that Borg cube, nor was she ever really
there,  she can manifest herself wherever she chooses because she is everywhere,
in every Borg...

That's why she's not a leader, as she tells Data, she IS Borg...

I'm sure there are many possible explainations that we Trekkers and Trekkies
can think of, but I doubt the Voyager writers were thinking of them, I think
they just messed up or didn't care...

    Yes I was waiting for them to go after the technology..the Borg
    have transwarp capabilities..they could have gone home.
    
    

    The borg were in the Delta Quadrant long before the Alpha, (first
    contact, the borg queen trying to use the deflector dish to contact the
    borg in the 21st century who were then in the DELTA Quadrant.
    
    ALthough since
    the members of the collective were from the Alpha Quadrant, you would
    think Janeway would have been more curious about how they got their,
    since that would in theory give them a way home.

    Isn't Delta where Q blew the Enterprise when the Borg first showed up
    on TV, too?

    I don't remember precisely, but I thought Q took Picard to the Delta
    quadrant to meet the Borg too. Perhaps not but I had that impression
    from somewhere... 

    I can't remember if they mentioned which quadrant Q took them to, only

    It was 3000 light years. The Delta Quadrant is 70,000 light years,
    which is how far Voyager was flung. The first Borg incident happened in
    the Alpha Quadrant.

    Sorry Glenn, what you said a couple back about Q throwing them ahead

    The first encounter with the Borg is the episode "Q Who". In this
    episode, Q flings the Big E a distance of 3000 lights years. Data says
    something like "At maximum warp it would take us 2 years 11 months 26
    days to reach outpost J23" or something like that. In the episode there
    is no mention of them being in another quadrant of the galaxy. They
    were definitely in Borg territory, however.

    My favourite line in this one is Q's:

    "If you can't take a bloody nose, maybe you should go home and hide
    under your bed. It's not safe out here. It's wonders, to satiate
    desires both subtle and gross. But it's not for the timid."

I just read a rumor that the season finale for Voyager will be called
"Scorpion" and will involve the Borg.  (I'll enter a note for the episode when
there's more information.)
