1925.0. "Judging within 6 Mos?" by SALEM::ROY_K () Mon Sep 12 1994 17:02

What is the general rule of thumb about Judges judging students
or animals that they have trained? I know that in the APHA and AQHA
it is 6 mos. Does this also apply to a judge who say judges a bucksin QH
at a QH show and then the next week shows it at a bucksin show?

I have seen two incidents this year that blew me away like this.

One situation was an open show where a trainer was judging a horse that
had been in the trainers barn for at least 6 mos. and had gone home 2 weeks
ago. The other situation was similar to what I described above!

I can't get over it!

The minimum requirement is six months for IBHA (Buckskin) judges and all carded
judges of the Color Breed Council (Paint, Pinto, POA, Palomino, Buckskin).

I am a rules person for our local charter of the IBHA and would like more
information about the incidents off line. The IBHA is very serious about rule
violations at "pointed" shows will take disciplinary measures if the violations
can be properly documented. You can send me mail at WFOOFF::DALE_DAVE or call
me @ 242-2463.
