Several people have requested information on Dude Ranches. I have recently
received a brochure from a company located in Colorado called American

listed in the brochure. I have not been to any of these so I cannot vouch for
how they really are.

The brochure contains several adventures: Snowmobiling, Dog Sledding, Cross
Country Skiing, Horseback Adventures, and Guest Ranch Vacations.

It also contains adventures to enjoy at some different locations such as:

Florida - Dancing with dolphins wellness workshop, Barrier Islands
		  Sailing

	Virgin Islands - Sailing
	Mexico - Whale Watching, Kayaking

New Zealand - Parks, Peaks & Alps, Bicycle Tours

1683.1Monument Valley - Trail RideLABC::PENNEquestrian LadyFri Nov 13 1992 20:2942
Monument Valley - Arizona-Utah - Trail Ride - Base Camp

Saddle up and journey through a wonder-land of massive monoliths, towering
mesas and mystical ruins. Our eight day trips being and end in Gallup, New
Mexico. $1200. Single lodging supplement is available for $100.00

Monument Valley is known throughout the world as the setting for countless
western movies and television commercials. However, as spectacular as it may
appear on the big screen, there's just no comparison to the reality of
experiencing it with your own eyes on the back of a horse. Located entirely
within the Navajo Nation, our Native American guides share with us the legends,
lore, geology and endless vistas of this truly remarkable natural wonder.

Our adventure begins on Day 1 and ends on Day 8 with airport transfers and
motel lodging in Gallup, New Mexico. Enroute to the trailhead we visit
Hubbell's Trading Post, stopping for lunch at Goulding's Lodge. Upon arrival
your duffel is loaded onto the camp truck and shuttled ahead to our pre-set
basecamp near Thunderbird Mesa. Once introduced to your horse and guides we
ride by North Window down past Sand Creek Springs and into camp. For five
glorious nights we'll enjoy the welcomed comforts of this secluded, well
provisioned bivouac complete with sleeping cots, bedrolls, pads, sheets,
pillows, hot shower trailer, tables and campfire chairs. Fine dining and
professional cowboy entertainment will cap each active day.

Up with the rising sun we'll ride out in a new direction each day to explore
the Valley. Highlights include trips to the Totem Pole and Rooster Rock,
Little Monument Valley, For's Point, Hunt's Mesa and numerous national arches,
petroglyphs and Anasazi ruins. The climax will be a ride to the top of
Mitchell Mesa (accessible only by foot or horseback) where we view the entire
valley and portions of four different states. Back in Gallup on the night of
Day 7 we recount our exploits while exchanging friendly farewells over dinner.
Airport transfers the next morning mark the end of a rewarding week.

colorful as the history and legends surrounding them. The hot, dry desert air,
giant saguaro cacti and countless deep rock canyons invite a welcome change
from winter's doldrums. Through the trails are rugged and the riding
adventuresome, ample rewards lie in the glory of the Sonoran Desert in bloom.
