69.0. "Where to find Western Show Halter?" by JUNIOR::BARNES () Tue May 27 1986 16:45

    Anyone out there no where I can find a tack shop that has a decent
    inventory of western show halters? Our Appy has outgrown his yearling
    halter and borrowing a horse size got us through this past weekend.
    I don't want to continue borrowing but after looking around this
    past weekend at various shops in the So. N.H. and No. Mass. area,
    we haven't seen anything we liked. Any suggestions or does anyone
    have a halter they want to sell/trade.

    So as to not have duplicate response here is where we have already
    been:
    		State Line Tack
    		Shamrock Acres
    		Parade Acres

69.3Nashoba Valley and Circle DCARLIN::ROMBERGKathy Romberg DTN 276-8189Wed May 28 1986 02:0612

	What about the Nashoba Valley Tack Shop in Pepperell, MA or the
    Circle D Ranch Tack shop in Westford.

	(I can't remember how much western show stuff is at Circle D,
    but the guy who runs it supplies halters and other leather goodies
    to Dover Saddlery in Wellesley)

69.5How about....SHRFAC::CARIBOWed Jan 18 1989 11:2810
    What about just replacing the buckle? Most tack shops sell silver
    parts for halters, bridles and saddles. They really aren't that
    expensive either. Probably alot cheaper than shipping the halter
    out to the manufacturer.

    On my show halter everything unscrews so it is easily replaced.

    Just an idea.

    I guess the best idea would be to just replace the buckle.
    Thanks Lorna. I had thought of this, but figured I'd give
    getting it repaired a shot.

    In this case, does anyone out there know the address of
    Circle-Y or whom I would contact there? It's a gorgeous
    matched floral design on all the pieces, so I hope they
    still have replacements for them.

    Thanks.
