Hi,
how does a DNS clerk decide, which clearinhgouse he should use ?
Imagine the following situation:
a DNS information is stored in a master ch and one read-only ch in one LAN,
there are two other remote ch reachable over WAN.
It happens, that for any reason my clerk starts talking with the remote ch
over
WAN although both local ch are up and reachable. Of course the access to the
remote ch takes much longer time.
Well, this could be ok as far there was one second, where the local ch where
not reachable - but: why does the clerk not choose to go back to the local ch
as soon he can reach them again ???
The problem is, that a clerk who has once established a connection with a ch
will continue to use this clearinghouse, although a closer connection is
much faster.
Perhaps there's anybody who knows this effect or could explain this problem.
Is there any chance to improve this behaviour ?
Regards,
Andreas
