3193.0. "Looking for a Volunteer :)" by TNPUBS::KUKLA () Fri Mar 28 1997 18:03

I'm looking for a volunteer who knows a lot about bicycles to
participate in a product development program that is building a tool for
finding and organizing information on the internet, newswires, mail
    systems etc.

I want to build something like a blueprint and layout of an information
"thing" that will help an "expert" keep informed about developments in
the world of bicycles but may also help a novice purchase a bike for
    the first time.

Initially I would need to spend an hour our two with the volunteer and
    see how it goes.

If more folks want to participate that is better for me (part of the
design intent is to form communities of interest from those using the
    product).

I work in Littleton, MA so New England folks are perferred but others
    are not excluded.

    Why bicycles?

I just bought my first bike in 25 years! I had a 1970 Gitane. I just
bought a Trek 1220, '96. So I just been through trying to understand
the current technology. I also visited a lot of different shops. I
ended up buying from Naults in Manchester NH.

This conference was a great resource.

The only thing I can promise the participants at this point is the
product itself when it comes out.

    thanks,
    chuck

I am willing to help, though it seems steve fuller has many more
years experience (I was born in 1970.) I have worked in 3 shops,
raced (road) for ~5 years. Bicycle has been my primary transit
for ~15 years (yes, I ride to work, and for groceries etc.) I
live in Westford, MA, work in LKG.

I don't race, used to do time trials. My commuting is very limited
to a few times a summer. So we could be a good match if he interviews
    us together.
