Has anybody got any info on the new range of pro_flex bikes?

I,ve seen a small pic of one in a USA mag but the UK distributer knows
    nothing about them.

I have just had an accident with my old bike and need a new one fast
    before my weight ballons!

Also looking at the new Kona and Marin suspension bikes

    TIA

They have introduced two new bikes -- the only one I can remember is "The
Animal".

The 950 is the top line bicycle. They have changed the design some, but did
not change th suspension. I believe The Animal is between the 950 and the
850.

Not much pre-advertising has been done. They will be getting info out in the
late October, early November timeframe.

"The Animal" definatly sounds like the bike for me.

The suspension is listed as having 2.3" front wheel travel, and 3.5" rear wheel
travel (I guess there is a change here???).

The other bike they are introducing is called the Attack - looks like an 855
with a Girvin fork.

Forgot to add that I have seen the bike (I ride with the owner of
Pro-Flex once in a while). The frame looks a lot like the Cannondale
"Super V" set-up. I think it was Popular Mechanics that voted it onto
one of it's "Top Ten" list, (Innovation maybe?). The bike I saw was
headed for the photo shoot, so I didn't get to ride it ;^(

I am getting my info from my husband, who owns a bike shop in NH. He sells
PRO-Flex. He has just received the ordering information for the 95's and it
contained one of the new brochures.

Haven't seen the new bikes yet, but there will is a show in October.

It appears a lot of people are interested in the new Girvin. I would
advise hanging out at a couple of races and see what people think of it
after hammering a month or two. Heard from one off road racer that
there are some problems. A bargain is a bargain if it works.

This is what I have heard, third person. No validity to my argument,
just worth researching. Another idea for you if you want a dual
suspension is to look for leftover 94 cannondale Super V 1000. Very
nice bike, with the 95's coming in prices have dropped. (Looking in a
bike rag last night on the 95's, Cannondale is really compromising on
components to get to a price point)

2861.13Only "problem" is to remember to tighten the boltsSWAM2::BURDICK_JIFri Nov 11 1994 16:4313
I have a '94 Proflex 854 and am just starting to hit the rougher trails
with it in AZ (now that the snakes are going in for the winter!). I
used to have a Stumpjumper FS. The only "problem" that I have run into
is that the suspension joints do loosen up after the first couple of
rides. Everything has been tightened once, and seems to be staying
that way. This included the front fork. It was recommended that I
carry some allen wrenches on the trail, just in case.

The performance of the Girvin fork is great, and I am really enjoying
the rear suspension. The 95's have more rear travel and are lighter,
    from what I am hearing.

2861.14Feedback?BASLG1::BURNLEYTue Dec 20 1994 06:0912

Any more feedback on the new Pro_flex range from your side of the Pond?

They should arrive in the UK mid Jan, but before I shell out over
    $2500, I'm looking for a bit of re-assurance.

    TIA.
