2631.0. "Calling forall FAT CITY knowledge!!" by VLNVAX::OPR_BROGDEN () Thu Aug 05 1993 04:47

OKAY,OKAY......I made a mistake, I admit it!! But it was unintentional
at least. It started with a purchase of a bicycle mag., sounds pretty
familiar doesn't it? Well it seems that Fat City is going to release
a Ti MTB!!!! I haven't ridden one yet but the bike looks REALLY FAT!!
So what I need to know is there anyone who has a Fat and are they as
loyal to it as most people I hear are?? What does it ride like etc.?
They make 4 MTBs' The YO EDDY, WICKED LITE, MONSTER, and of course
the TI, I guess the Ti is alot like the YO EDDY as far as handling
etc. but has extra support on the BB to make up for flex.
Right now I have a Bridgestone MB-1 with Specialized FSX, I almost
bought a FAT when I bought my bike but figured the price tag was
too much, I wish I knew then what I was getting into then!! But I am
going to break down and buy a Fat this year, and I would really like
the Ti but I'm just not sure yet, so any advice would be greatly
appreciated!! Also I think I will have to take a ride to Fat City
and try a couple out if they have any completely built!

I have a YO EDDY and love it. I've had several other MTB's and nothing
    comes close to my FAT!

    Buy it!

I guess I have to pipe in here as well. I have two Fats, an old
Fat Chance and a Wicked. They are great and the loyality of a
Fat owner is legendary. Their geometry is always right on, and
I believe that they manage to make the back triangle stronger than
anybody else in the business - which provides great stability on
those gnarley washed out riverbed (or waterfall, for that matter)
downhill sections. I havn't riden the Ti, but it sure does sound
    like the holy grail.

    Go for it!
