2462.0. "request for node name suggestions" by FXODEV::CRANE (I'd rather be on my bicycle!) Wed Nov 18 1992 14:38

I recently sent out a plea for help to my usual bike distribution.
I received a few really good suggestions and have decided to expand
my quest to include the collective creative genius of this notesfile.

first a few node name rules:

  1) must be and alphanumeric name 6 characters or less in length.

  2) No reference to Titanium or Aluminum will be considered.
(everyone knows these frame materials are for weenies.)
(of course you can still submit them.)

  3) No reference to Shimano, Suntour or any of their component lines will
be considered. (see discussion in this notes file about this)

  4) No dirty names (You can mail these to me!!)

Just an FYI, I don't think TDF is acceptable. When I tried to
get a 3 letter node name I was told that they're no longer
allowed 'cos they get mixed up with facility names (?!). I
	wanted:

When I was picking nodenames for my system, I made up a small list similar to
yours. I checked availability of several, but the only one I recall now as
availablem, besides the one I settled on, was:
