2428.0. "Chip Ti's the knot!" by CTHQ::LANGLOIS (CT/TS) Thu Oct 08 1992 10:36

Just wanted to announce to the bicyclers (is that a word? :^) ) of
DEC that our very own Chip "The Titanium Terror" Girouard is getting
    married on Saturday, 17-October.
He's marrying my wife's sister which means that, yes, Chip is going to
be the brother-in-law of a guy who rides a 12 year old Fuji that
doesn't have an OUNCE of titanium on it!
    Let the replies begin!

    							:^)

PS. Chip, is it true that your wedding ring is made of Ti?

    earn/justify your TI dollars :-)

I hope your bride-to-be likes to ride. If not your saddle time will be seriously
impacted. It'd be a shame if that dream machine of yours didn't get used on a
daily basis.

I seem to recall a DuPont advertisement where they show a picture
of a woman in a wedding gown, and say that the pigment that
makes the dress white is titanium oxide produced by them.

    Congrats.

Is there a Ti Tandem on order? Or is it on the "registered list of
    gifts?"

    Congrats to you both,

Hey, what I want to know is... why haven't we received an
invitation? Is the Titanium Terror ashamed of us lesser
mortals? Or, is he just ashamed that so few of us have
    	the appropriate Ti accoutrements?

    	Many 8-)>

Congrats to you and the future Ms. Titanium Terror

Well, I guess I should thank Mr. Langlois for his obsessive
    discretion! :-)

Did I mention her name is Ms. Merlin... :-)

She doesn't (can't) ride anymore due to a chronic illness. But she
still has the ability to let me know whne I am out riding too much!

Don't be grazing the classifieds any time soon looking for my Merlin
for sale... It won't happen! :-)

I had to fore go inviting all my fellow noters because the Ti
invitations would have too expensive and wouldn't be able to
afford to feed people at the reception (family). And all of you
know how family is. Especially on the in-law side :-)!!!

Thanks for the best wishes. You will get a kick out of this...
My TT cycling banquet is the Tuesday after my wedding (10/20).
I told her that we'd have to postpone the honeymoon until 10/21
so I could attend. After one of those long "what's more important
to you conversations" I'm ............ Going to the banquet!!!!!!

I'm not out of the sport yet. And more importantly, I'll be allowed
to wear pant every now and then :-) Actually, it isn't as bad as I make
it out. There was conversation, but she didn't pull a handgun on me or
    anything :-)

extends to not showing you my mail message about family reunions... :*)

I just hope that in light of Tom's and my impending relationship
he doesn't start begging me for cast-offs and Ti hand-outs!

He may think he's entitled to some kinda priviledges! :-) :-)
    No offense, Tom. I'm just glad I'm 5'6" and your 6'3"... I
won't have to worry about my bicycle... :-)

    Oh I won't be begging Chip. I'm Ingrid's favorite brother-in-law. I'll
just tell her to MAKE you give me Ti components (remember that laser
    dot on your forehead???).

In the latest issue of Bicycling there is a pictorial on the '93
helmets. There were these bride and groom helmets, I couldn't help
but to think of Chip;-) (just incase you guys are going to make an
    entrance on a Tandem)

With regard to the wedding rings:

Mike Augsburger, former starter and chief welder of Merlin, has had his own
business, "One Off Titanium", for about the past 1.5 years doing custom
and on-off parts. He DOES make titanium wedding rings. It's almost
enough to make you want to get married...

    generation :-)
