Ron,
It may not be your batteries. I purchased my Innovator about two years
ago when they first came out. I've had problems with my average speed
every since then. I brought it back to the dealer, but he said it's a
known problem with the one's released in the first few shipments, and
since Vetta has corrected the problem. I noticed the problem usually
occurs whenever I go over 40/50 miles. At that point the Avg Sp.starts
incrementing quickly.
If you still what to replace your batteries send my your home address
and I'll mail you a copy of the instructions.

Mike,
Thanks for the info, my symptom just started happening, after 1
year and over 1500 of seemingly accurate average speed calculations.
I just noticed the problem last Saturday during a 80 mile ride
at around 70 miles I checked the average and it was 19.4 and this
was close to my partners reading of 19.3. By the time I finished
the ride the average dropped down to 17.4, and I sprinted the last
5 miles at over 24 mph, if anything my average should have gone
up.......
I read an earlier note regarding an apparent contact problem with
the batteries.
