1901.0. "1 less bridge to cross Merrimack river NH USA" by SOLVIT::DESMARAIS () Thu Apr 11 1991 11:03

For those bikers in the Nashua NH area you should be aware that
there will be one fewer bridges for bike access across the Merrimack
river when the new Circumferential Highway is built.. The bridge
in South Nashua across from the old State Liquor store will be
closed to bikes and pedestrians when the toll road is built.. There
will also be a new bridge built from Litchfield to Nashua or Merrimack
with no bike or pedestrian access..

If you think both of these bridges should have pedestrian/bike
    access send a letter to:

    Reference: Hudson/Nashua Circumferential Highway

Thanks for alerting us to this. I live in the area and use that
bridge a *lot* on my rides. I've drafted a letter to Mr. Cyr and
it'll be in the mail tomorrow.

That's an amazing bit of news. I'm a member of the Granite State Wheelmen,
there must be 1000 or more members, so I'll work to get them organized to
 protest this.

1901.3Great.. SOLVIT::DESMARAISTue Apr 16 1991 10:229
I sent him a letter and he responded that there wasn't enough interest
so it will be good for him to find out there is... The Town of
Litchfield wanted bike and pedestrian access but..

If you could get the Granite State Wheelmen to make the State aware
that people do ride bikes and it is more than just a few it would
    be great..

Could you send me more info about the Granite State Wheelmen?

When the Sagamore bridge is finished it will not have bicycle access.
There will be another bridge suspended from it that will allow both
    pedestrian and bicycle access.
