1829.0. "Serotta coming to Worcester" by BOOKS::MULDOON (I'll be right back - Godot) Wed Jan 23 1991 13:15

I stopped by the local shop this weekend and learned
that Ben Serotta is supposed to be making an appearance
in Worcester (MA., USA) in May. He'll be at Fritz's on
West Boylston St. (Rt. 12) to promote his frames. I don't
recall the exact date, but I'm pretty sure it was the
first week of the month. I'll get details later today
after the shop opens. I believe he's bringing bikes for
       test rides with him.

1829.1 Serotta visitUSMRM5::MREIDFri Jan 25 1991 16:2415
Ben was a guest speaker at a Minuteman Road Club (Frank's Spoke 'N Wheel)
meeting a couple years back; it was GREAT! He talked in great detail
about his frames and the history and manufacture of them; his talk
included a slide show of his factory, and experiences w/ 7-11.

Subsequent to his visit, MANY riders/racers in our club have purchased
Serotta's (esp the Colorado). The information presented convinced a
lot of us that his frames were of superior quality; test riding REALLY
    convinced us.

If anyone is thinking about purchasing a pro bike in the future, then
don't miss this opportunity to talk with Ben.

Yea, Serottas are nice bikes. I was talking to Giuseppe Marinoni a few
months ago while in Montreal and he mentioned that Serotta was looking
to improve on his frames. To do that, he was hoping to spend some time
under the tutelage of Marinoni. I don't think that it ever happened
but Marinoni still does some chroming for Serotta.

         Ok, now the bad news...

The date is May 3rd which turns out to be a Friday.
I don't have the hours that he'll be there, but Fritz's
is normally only open 'til 6:00 on Fridays. I guess you
should probably call the shop for further details. (853-1799)

If you've never seen one of Serotta's frames, one of
my riding partners leaves his at the shop for display. It's
the black and *pink* Nova on the roof rack display. (Ok, so
Serotta calls it something other than pink, but whenever I
see Jack I assure him that it's *pink*) 8^)

                                            Steve (who is slightly
                                                   envious no matter
                                                   what color it is)
