1684.0. "ROCK SHOX" by EVTAI1::REMIGEREAU () Fri Aug 03 1990 07:26

Who has tried the fork 'ROCK SHOX'?
Do you think it's a pure gadget or does it really help?

I have heard that a second generation of fork 'ROCK SHOX' is gonna be released.
Any idea of what it could be?

Thank you.

    I was very interested in ROCK SHOX for my CR7. My riding doesn't
    include a lot of killer downhill but does include lots of irregular
    terrain.

    What I didn't like: $350 price tag, extra weight being carried in the
    front end of the bike, complexity which I might not be able to fix on
    the trail, additional front brake cable which would add a bit
    of "squishy" feel.

    I compromised with: FLEXSTEM 90 with standard "pads", aluminum straight
    bars, *GOOD* foam grips, PANNARACER 2.1 tires run at 35 lbs.

    For the bucks I feel very comfortable with this solution. The larger
    tires were the greatest improvement and the stem was the hardest thing
    to get used too.
