1664.0. "Help needed in solving a bike theft" by MEMORY::GOODWIN (Just say NO to Day Glo) Wed Jul 25 1990 12:00

I would like to ask for the assistance of everyone who reads these
	notes file.

On Monday night, July 23, Someone broke into Frank's Spoke N'Wheel
in Framingham MA. and did a good job of cleaning out the store. They
selectively went through the store and display cases taking only
the best components, mountain bikes, and frame sets. Then, after
cleaning out the store the thieves snacked on power bars and
	gatorade.

Three of the frames that are the most visible are: a lime green
LeMond, this color was a special order and is probably the only one,
A Black Trimble, and a Profile Air raid. Also taken was a Blueberry
Cannondale that belonged to a customer.

If anyone tries to sell you any of this stuff or you hear of any
deals on components that sound to good to be true please contact
the Framingham Police Department at (508) 872-1212.

	Paul

Power bars, Gatorade, and a Profile Air Raid.... hmmm, they must have been
triathletes! I've heard of "stealing seconds" in a triathlon, but this
is getting out of control. :~)

Good luck, and I hope Frank's insurance is paid up,

I doubt that if someone was that sophisticated about
stealing stuff that they'd try to fence it locally. New York or
L.A. could swallow that up without a hitch, and the profits would
make it worth the trip (~$5000+, probably).
